Traffic delays expected to last a few weeks in Comox due to road work

Drivers can expect some traffic delays for the next couple of weeks thanks to construction work in the Town of Comox.

Leighton Contracting will be doing sidewalk and road reconstruction on both Tsimshian Avenue, and Kwakiutl Avenue.

This work will begin Thursday the 9th and is expected to last for five weeks, with the work being done Monday to Friday, from 7:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

According to the Town of Comox, access will only be for local residents, with single-lane alternating traffic and sidewalk closures, and non-local motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians are required to use alternate routes.

They ask drivers to be cautious and follow signals and directions given by traffic personnel.

The town says the work could be extended depending on weather conditions.
