Courtenay Councillor’s leave of absence has ended

The City of Courtenay has released a statement regarding the mandatory leave of absence of Councillor David Frisch.

The City says that the leave has officially ended due to requirements of sections 109.1 through 109.3 of the Community Charter, which applies to a council member charged with an offence under the Criminal Code.

With Frisch no longer subject to these charges, his council duties have been automatically restored.

Frisch told the City that he recommended medical leave, and according to the City, is expected to return to work this April.
