Water restrictions set for Comox Valley water system in May

The Comox Valley Water system will officially be under Stage 1 restrictions, starting May 1st.

Th change usually comes into effect at this time of year. It means that lawn and garden sprinkling permitted for even numbered addresses between 5-8 am and 7-10 pm on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Odd-numbered addresses get Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

Manager of Water Services Mike Herschmiller says that these restrictions might seem unnecessary given the weather.

“However, as we move into the warmer, drier season we’re reminding residents to be aware of their water use and understand the importance of water conservation,” says Herschmiller.
