Comox Valley Schools says Michelle Waite will serve as board chair for another year.
They say this comes after yesterday’s public board meeting, and Susan Leslie was also elected vice-chair.
Waite says she is honoured to be re-elected and it is a position she values deeply.
“As we engage in the important work ahead, with reconciliation and our strategic planning process, our focus remains steadfast on creating a nurturing learning environment for our students,” said Waite.
The school district adds trustee Sarah Jane Howe will serve as the BC School Trustees Association provincial councillor and Shannon Aldinger will be the alternate.
Trustees Chelsea McCannel Keene and Cristi May Sacht have been appointed as the BC Public School Employers’ Association board representative and alternate respectively.
