It is almost that time of year when kindergarten registration opens for the next school year in SD71.
Comox Valley Schools says registration for children entering Indigenous, French Immersion and Montessori programs in the 2024/25 year will open on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, registration for neighbourhood schools opens on Jan. 23 and Navigate Fine Arts eCademy and Compass program registration opens on Feb. 7. The school district reminds you that for your child to be eligible, they must be at least five years old by December 31, 2024.
Early French Immersion will be offered at École Robb Road or École Puntledge Park. Montessori programs are offered at Queneesh or Courtenay Elementary and the Indigenous Program is offered at École Puntledge Park. Placements are on a first come, first serve basis and registration opens at 6 p.m.
The district adds most students will go to their neighbourhood school. You can use the school locator to find where your neighbourhood school is, and registering will help ensure there is a spot available.
Registration for late French Immersion, which begins at Grad 6, starts at 6 p.m. on Jan. 29
