Cumberland gathering public input on climate plan

The village of Cumberland wants to hear your thoughts on their Climate Action plan through two events.

The Village will be showing data on current greenhouse gas emissions, allowing people to give feedback on how to reduce them.

Mayor Vickey Brown says they want to hear about how they can prepare and adapt to climate change.

“Community participation is key to developing a Climate Action Plan that is ambitious, yet achievable,” said Brown.

The first event is a Climate Action Cafe, where you can talk to project team members while having coffee at the Masonic Hall on Dunsmuir Avenue.

The second event will be an online meeting. You can get the link by sending an email to planning@cumberland.ca.

The village is planning to take input from both events and make a draft for climate actions and policies.

The cafe runs February 6 from 5 pm to 8 pm, and the meeting will run from 6:30 to 8 pm on February 15.
