More care providers, new services, and expanded hours are coming to the Comox Valley after hours urgent care clinic.
Island Health says the clinic will officially run from 1 to 9 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends and holidays, with hopes of expanding healthcare to those in need.
Minister of Health Adrian Dix says the changes will also lighten impacts on the North Island emergency department and reduce wait-times for patients.
Along with the increase in hours, the clinic will bring in 3 full-time registered nurses, 2.7 physicians, social work, and mental health services.
