Starting Monday, the Town of Comox will be performing water main flushing for a month.
The flushing is done to remove any sediment coming from Comox Lake, which is the town’s drinking water source.
They say sediment can build up over time in the water lines.
In response, the public works department will be flushing the over 450-plus fire hydrants and blow-offs on dead-end lines.

The town says the flushing takes 15 minutes per hydrant and will take place from April 22 to May 31.
