New art exhibit to be unveiled in Comox Valley Airport

A new art exhibit has opened at the Comox Valley Airport.

The airport says through collaboration with the ARTWRX Studio + Gallery, a collective of artists based in Courtenay, they have unveiled the Art at the Airport exhibit.

The exhibit showcases 40 pieces of art on the walls of the terminal, with airport CEO Mike Atkins saying they are excited to welcome these artists to the show.

“They have expertly captured the essence and beauty of our region, and we’re fortunate to display these pieces for visitors and valley residents alike,” said Atkins.

Gallery manager Sharon Lalonde says they consider the work their personal welcome to those visiting Vancouver Island and a nice reminder of home for residents.

The airport adds if you can’t see the exhibit in-person, they have a virtual gallery available on the airport’s website.

The exhibit will be available until mid-October.
