Comox Valley RCMP will be using E-Bikes for future bike patrols throughout the Valley.
The bikes are part of a new initiative, aiming to improve patrolling for officers so they can respond quicker to emergencies.
Constable Monika Terragni says this comes after regular bikes were implemented back in 2019.
“Having the officers ride bikes has provided them with increased mobility, agility, and accessibility, allowing them to navigate various terrains with ease,” said Terragni. “The new e-bikes will offer the ability to accelerate quickly and maintain consistent speeds.”

Police add this initiative is a pilot program, with potential to expand sometime in the future.
