Annual Home and Garden tour returns to Cumberland June 27

An annual tour returns to Cumberland next weekend.

The Cumberland Home and Garden Tour takes place June 27, offering attendees a look inside homes, builds and gardens in Cumberland while sharing local stories.

Meaghan Cursons, executive director of the Cumberland Community Forest Society (CCFS), said the event celebrates the strength and character of the community.

“We are so honoured by the generosity and creativity of the homeowners, service organizations and businesses who open their doors for this event.”

The tour is a full-day exploration of galleries, churches, sacred spaces, social gathering spots, heritage homes and modern designs.

This year’s event includes a new twist, with CCFS working with Comox Valley Arts to highlight the creative sector of the village through pop-up galleries and exhibitions at locations along the route.

Attendees will also discover urban farms, FireSmart initiatives, solar power projects, water conservation efforts, native plants, pollinator gardens and other environmental features.

Tickets cost $30, with 100 per cent of proceeds supporting land protection, stewardship and environmental education efforts for the Cumberland Forest.

Ticket holders are asked to meet at Village Square at 3rd Street and Dunsmuir Street at 8:30 a.m. to redeem their digital tickets.
