Strathcona RD Vice-Chair concerned about BC Ferries staffing

The Vice-chair of the Strathcona Regional District says bad management and planning at BC Ferries is hurting Vancouver Island residents.

Jim Abram says there have been issues recently with sailings between Campbell River and Quadra being cancelled because a staff member called in sick and Ferries couldn’t find a replacement.

He says this isn’t something new, and staffing issues have been a topic of discussion for the last 3 years.

A group of residents will be bringing their concerns to a meeting with the local advisory chair on Monday.
